He also serves of counsel to The Jane Group, one of the only firms in the U.S. which specializes in crisis management for independent schools.
Juba has presented and co-presented training sessions and seminars for a diverse range of organizations that includes the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), Neighborhood Leadership Development Program (NLDP), Cleveland Department of Public Health, Hiram College, Malone University, Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management, Canton City Schools and more. Juba has also guest lectured at the Case Weatherhead School of Management.
Juba often collaborates with renowned communication professional Davis Young. Young was President of the former Edward Howard & Co., one of the most respected and highly honored public relations firms in the country.
Juba and Young co-authored, Avoid Workplace Communication Screw-ups: They'll Cost Money and Get You Fired, published by Smart Business Books. It is a practical guide to becoming a better communicator in the workplace and avoiding the mistakes that stifle people’s careers.
During his career, Juba has earned numerous major honors and awards.
Among those honors, in 2013, Juba was honored as a Distinguished Sales and Marketing Award® winner (DSMA®) by Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI), the leading professional association for sales and marketing professionals. In 2013, Juba was also a member of the Hennes Communications team that won the 2013 PRSA Cleveland Rocks “Best of Show” Award and a Gold “Rocks” Crisis Communications Award. The “Best of Show” distinction is awarded to the entry that receives the highest score among all the entries from a panel of judges. Later, the work Hennes Communications & Juba performed on that project was distinguished nationally as a finalist in the SABRE Awards program.
The following year, Juba, along with the corporate communications team from Hattie Larlham, earned the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award at the 2014 PRSA Cleveland Rocks Awards, one of the ceremony’s highest honors. The award recognized the innovative campaign Juba and Hattie Larlham created and implemented for Over the Edge for Hattie Larlham - a fundraising event in which participants rappelled off a skyscraper in support of people with developmental disabilities. In 2015, Juba and Hattie Larlham were once again Judge’s Choice Award recipients at the PRSA Cleveland Rocks Awards for the success they achieved in planning and executing the organization’s social media initiatives in 2014 and 2015.
Among Juba’s other professional recognitions, former Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the Ohio House of Representatives and former Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic have all formally honored his work.
Juba’s educational background includes a master’s degree in public relations from Kent State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Baldwin-Wallace College, where he was a Collegiate All-American Scholar.
